Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered

When and where are meals served?

Every Monday and Wednesday, 5:00–6:15 PM, in the Pitkin Room at 18 South Broadway Ave., Nyack. Enter through the glass doors on Burd Street — a wheelchair ramp is available. We're open on federal holidays too.

Is there a cost, or do I need to qualify?

No. Meals are always free, and offered to anyone in our community who needs one — no questions asked.

Where else can I find food assistance?

See the food pantries near you listed on this page, along with links to full pantry directories for Rockland County.

Is Soup Angels a religious organization?

No. We're a non-denominational, non-sectarian community kitchen, operating under our own 501(c)(3) status, in the building provided by The Angel Nyack (formerly the First Reformed Church of Nyack).

How do I become a volunteer?

Register on our Volunteer page. Volunteers must be at least 12, and volunteers aged 12–15 attend with a parent.

How can I donate?

Give online, by check, with stock, from your IRA, through a planned gift, or with an employer match. We also welcome food and supply donations — see the Donate page.

Where do I drop off donations?

Use the south entrance on Church Street and ring the bell at the brown door marked “Soup Angels Volunteer Entrance.” Please email us first.

How long has Soup Angels been serving Nyack?

Since 2006 — nearly 20 years, without missing a meal service. We're celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2026. Read our history.
